Thelma Pauline Ellis, 94, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 7:30 P.M. on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Residential Living Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Thelma was born on Saturday, December 6, 1919 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the daughter of the late Thomas P. and Eunice (Skelton) Morlan. She married Loren Carl Ellis on September 16, 1938 and he preceded her in death on June 4, 2010. Surviving family members include her son: Loren Clifton "Tom" Ellis and wife Judy of Calle…Tortosa Cathedral City, California; grandson: Brendan Ellis and wife Susan of San Jose, California; granddaughter: Marcie Kowalczyk and husband Aaron of Boise, Idaho; great granddaughter: Maikai Ellis; 2 great grandsons: Mateo and Campbell Kowalczyk; several nieces and nephews also survive. Her parents, husband, infant daughter: Janie Kay Ellis, brother: Tom Morlan, the two sisters: Edith Eater and Irene Lynn preceded her in death. Graveside service will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Bethel Memorial Cemetery in Mt Vernon, Illinois Rev. Bob Deitz, officiating.
