    3. The Mt. Vernon Register-News, Thursday, May 31, 1951 E. F. Chambliss Dies at Age 53; Rites Saturday Edward F. Chambliss, of 304 north Fourth street, died at 2:25 p. m. yesterday at Good Samaritan Hospital, where he had been a patient for the past two days. Mr. Chambliss, a farmer, died three days after observing his 53rd birthday. Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 p. m. at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. J. G. Parsons and the Rev. Everett Apgar officiating, and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time after 10 a. m. Friday. Mr. Chambliss was born May 27, 1898 in Jefferson county, the son of Edward and Margaret (Frost) Chambliss. He was a lifetime resident of this county. He was married to Erma Tish, who preceded him in death September 26, 1949. Mr. Chambliss was a member of the Southwest Church of Christ. Surviving are one brother, Reginald Harris of Mt. Vernon and four sisters, Mrs. Lena Lively, Miss Laura Harris, Mrs. Grace McDaniels and Mrs. Lorene Yandell, all of Mt. Vernon.
