George Louis Moore, age 69, of Fairview Heights, born Dec. 25, 1944, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 14, 2014, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Mo. Mr. Moore was a certified public accountant in private practice and an instructor with the University of Illinois Tax School. An ardent fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Mr. Moore enjoyed attending games at Busch Stadium and spring practice sessions in Florida. His quick wit, generosity and loyal spirit will be missed by family, friends and clients. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Helen, nee Yeargin, Moore. Surviving are his wife, Elaine nee Wilson of Fairview Heights, whom he married May 24, 1969; daughters, Shannon of Mundelein and Kara (Rick) of Chicago; sister, Mary (George) Morse of Sugarland, Texas; and brother, William (Cathy) Moore of Williamsburg, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the First United Presbyterian Church in Belleville.
