The Mt. Vernon Register-News, Thursday, July 5, 1956 Roy E. Cook, 47, Dies; Funeral At Nashville Roy Eugene Cook, 47, of 2004 Logan street, died Wednesday at Good Samaritan Hospital. Funeral services will be held Friday at 1:30 p. m. at the Smith Funeral Home in Nashville, Ill., and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery here. Mr. Cook, who lived most of his lifetime in Nashville moved to Mt. Vernon about four months ago. He is survived by his wife, the former Vinetta Burks of Mt. Vernon; a son, Dennis of Nashville; a daughter, Mrs. Norman Hassler of Alexandria, Va.; two brothers and two sisters.
