The Mt. Vernon Register-News, Tuesday, December 27, 1949 Rites Toddy for Mrs. Flannigan Mrs. Virginia Annie Flannigan died at 4:30 a. m. Sunday at her home, 719 Lamar Ave., at the age of 79 years, seven months and 16 days. Funeral services were held at Myers Chapel at 2:00 p. m. today, with the Rev. Owen Post and the Rev. Thos. Harper officiating, and burial followed in Oakwood cemetery. Mrs. Flannlgan was born May 9, 1870 near Thompsonville, in Franklin county, the daughter of John H. and Mary E. (Brown) Mabry. On December 29, 1887, she was married, at Parrish, Ill., to M. M. Flannigan, who preceded her in death in 1944. She was a member of the 15th street Church of God and the Royal Neighbors of America. Surviving are two sons, Lehman of Mt. Vernon and Fred of Evansvllle; two daughters, Mrs. Beulah Scott and Mrs. Lorene Newby of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Mrs. Sally Puckett of Mt. Vernon; three brothers, T. H. Mabry of West Frankfort and Charley and Neal Mabry of Mt. Vernon; six grandchildren and one great grandchild. One grandson, Cleo Flannigan, was reared by Mrs. Flannigan.
