Betty I'm pretty sure his name is Davis from the following transcription of a newspaper clipping on ancestry: Highlight of the evening was a "This Is Your Life" program honoring Mrs. Leona Davis, in appreciation of her outstanding christian service to her home and to her church. (Note: Logan Street Baptist Church is mentioned under the photo above the article) The program was opened by the presentatino of a corsage of white carnations from Mrs. Davis' grandchildren. Events in her early life were related by: her brothers, Roy Goddard and Kirby Goddard, of St. Louis, Mo.; school-mates Zola Estes and Estelle Donaldson; Mina Smith, a sister-in-lay and Nera Bennett, a member of the first Sunday school class taught by Mrs. Davis.... (note: blurried and hard to read the rest of the paragraph). Events in family life were unfolded by the children: Mrs. Wilma Ruth Jenkins, L. Noel Davis, Mrs. Faye Reynolds, Mrs. Norma Lee Huffstutler, Mrs. Betty Martin, and Mrs. Marie Goddard, a sister-in-law. Source: Mt. Vernon Register-News, May 16, 1956 page 7 posted on ancestry.com I think this obit of a son also confirms the surname of Davis: Mt. Vernon Register-News January 8, 2007 Leonard Noel Davis, 86, of Mt.
