    2. Betty L. Sanders, age 85, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor. She was a charter member of Casey Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years where she played the piano and taught Sunday School. She was presently a member of Summersville Baptist Church. When Betty lived at Heritage Woods in Mount Vernon she was very active in volunteering her time for various activities. Before retirement, Betty was a Registered Nurse in the Obstetrics Department at Good Samaritan Hospital. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday October 1, 2014 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Reverend Don Verhines and Reverend Jerry Montgomery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until Service Time 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Interment at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Summersville Baptist Church or Casey Avenue Baptist Church and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mount Vernon, Illinois 62864. Betty L Sanders is survived by 2 daughters - Mary Jane Tucker and husband Randy of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Elizabeth Combs of Dix, Illinois; 2 foster sons - Ron Mosier and wife Sheila of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Mike Mosier of Chicago, Illinois; Ryan Tucker and wife Carrie of Wayne City, Illinois, Julie Tucker of Chesterfield, Missouri, Stephany Holder of Illinois, Michelle Fields of Illinois, Brittany Laur of Mount Vernon, Illinois; 8 great grandchildren - Jacob Ryan Tucker, Jolie Grace Tucker, Cole Tucker, Crew Charles Tucker, Jeffrey Ledbetter, Jessy Ledbetter, Molly Ledbetter and Mallory Ledbetter; 6 great great grandchildren. Several Nieces and Nephews also survive, including two special nieces; Adele Metz and husband Nelson of Edwardsville, Illinois and Joyce Jones and husband Tom of Medina, Ohio. Betty L. Sanders was born on Thursday, February 14, 1929 in Mount Vernon, Illinois daughter of Ted and Elva Bond. She married Herman Sanders in Mount Vernon, Illinois on September 27, 1956. He preceded her in death on April 6, 1979. Her parents, husband, 2 Brothers; Paul Bond and Franklin D. Bond, 1 Sister; Patricia Easley and 1 Foster Son; Tim Mosier preceded Betty in death.

    3. Anyone know more about her husband Herman Sanders? Looks like he was from Wayne County, IL. Possible parents William and Minnie in 1920 census in Four Mile Twp. My maternal grandfather's sister married into the Sanders family from Four Mile Twp and I wonder if Herman is connected somewhere.
