Brent Wayne Hahn, age 63, of Mt. Vernon, died Monday, Sept. 29, 2014, at St. Louis University Hospital as the result of a motorcycle accident. Brent was born July 20, 1951, in Mt. Vernon, a son of Don and Marilyn (White) Hahn. On July 16, 1976, in Mt. Vernon, he married Rebecca “Becky” Jo Webb and she preceded him in death on Nov. 14, 2010.Mr. Hahn worked for the Mt. Vernon Fire Department for 28 years, where he served as chief from 2003 to 2007. He enjoyed music and was a drummer for The Beatle Brothers. He was a loving father and grandfather.Brent is survived by his daughter, Celeste Hahn and special friend Dante Sussen Sr. of Mt. Vernon; grandson, Dante “Bubby” Sussen; granddaughter, Destini Sussen; half-brother, Chris Hahn and wife Christy of Vincennes, Ind.; stepmother, Wanda and husband Tom Hopkins of Mt. Vernon; two sisters-in-law, Carla Mae Davis and Carol Jean Martin both of Mt. Vernon; and also several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Brent was preceded in death by his wife, Becky Hahn; nephew, Donald Fleener; and brothers-in-law, Jimmy Webb and David Webb.Funeral services for Brent Hahn will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. A fire fighter walk through will be held at the start of the service.Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. Interment will follow at a later date in the Mt.
