The Mt. Vernon Register-News, Monday, October 25, 1948 Nellie Foster Dies at Age 68 Mrs. Nellie Moore Foster, of 519 Main street, died at 7:05 a. m. today at Good Samaritan Hospital. Her age was 68 years, four months and 17 days. Mrs. Foster was employed for seven years as dietitian at the state hospital in Lincoln, Ill. before her health failed in March of this year. She was employed for 15 years at the Howard and Casey Co. here. Funeral services will he held Wednesday at 2:00 p. m. at the Pulley Funeral Home. Edwin Hayden will officiate and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The body will remain at the Pulley Funeral Home, where friends may call after 10 a. m. Tuesday. Mrs. Foster was born January 8, 1880 in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Jerry and Mary (Flint) Moore. In 1900 she was married, in Mt. Vernon, to George Foster, who preceded her in death in 1918. She was n member of the Central Church of Christ and of the Royal Neighbors. Surviving are two sons, Art Foster of Mt. Vernon and Clarence Foster of New Orleans, La.; a twin brother, Ed Moore of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Mrs. Madie Fischer of Mt. Vernon; and four grandchildren.
Does anyone know more about her mother's Flint ancestry? From 1900 census her mother was born Jan 1863 in IL. Jerry Moore is Jeremiah M.
