Vernon Register-News, Monday, February 4, 1952, Stella Crews Dies at Age 75; Rites Wednesday Mrs. Stella Crews, of the Salem Road. died at 8:00 o'clock this Morning at Good Samaritan Hospital, where she had been a patient for the past ten days. She was 75 years, one month and three days of age. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00 p. m. at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Bayne Wilson officiating, and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call after 10 a. m. Tuesday. Mrs. Crews was born December 31, 1876 in Posey county, Ind., the daughter of Moses and Elizabeth (Knight) Stallings. She was married to Richard Henry Crews, who preceded her in death in 1938. Mrs. Crews was a member of the Methodist church. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. W. F. Hicks of Mt. Vernon. Mrs. Alfred Dale Levick of Spokane, Wash., Mrs. Gale Lowry of Mexico, Mo. and Mrs. C. A. Presley of Okeechobee, Florida; three sons, Leon Crews of Burbank, Calif., Richard R. Crews of Cleveland, Ohio and Wayne Crews of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Percy Stallings of Mt. Carmel; a sister, Mrs. H. O. Mann of Lindsay, Calif.; and 12 grandchildren.
