The Mt. Vernon Register-News, Tuesday, May 17, 1960 Carrie Badgett Dies At Age 75; Rites Thursday Mrs. Carrie Luella Badgett died at 11:45 p.m. yesterday at her home, 1001 south 12th street. She was 75 years, four months, and six days old. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Myers Chapel with the Rev. Eugene Holconib officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The body will Lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 4 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist church, of which Mrs. Badgett was a member. Mrs. Badgett was born Jan. 10, 1885 in this city, the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Ridelberger) Shew. She was married Oct. 19, 1907 to Oscar Henry Badgett, who preceded, her in death April 26, 1944. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Catherine Stephenson of Florissant, Mo., Mrs. Elizabeth Stewart of St. Anne, Mo., Mrs. Eleanor Dalton of Johnstown, Pa., and Mrs. Dorothy Eubanks of this city; two sons, Charles O. Badgett of Columbus, Ohio, and Homer H. Badgett of San Diego, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Florence Ayers of St. Johns, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
