The Mt. Vernon Register-News, Monday, March 16, 1959 Grace Carlton Dies Today At Her Home Here Mrs. Grace Carlton died At 7 a m. today at her home, 1124 south 24th street. She was 74 years, two months and two days old. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p. m. Wednesday at Myers Chapel with the Rev. Ace Summers officiating. Burial will be in West Salem cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 4 p. m. tomorrow. Mrs. Carlton was born Jan. 14. 1885 in Pope county, the daughter of John and Martha (Vandergraf) Gullett. On May 19, 1907, in this city she was married to Charles Carlton, who survives. Other survivors include two sons. John E. Carlton of Kansas City, Mo., and Robert J. Carlton of this city; one daughter, Mrs. Erma Chancey, also of Mt. Vernon; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one child. Mrs. Carlton was a member of the Bethel Tabernacle.
