The Mount Carmel Daily Republican Register, Mt. Carmel, Ill., Monday, September 12, 1994 Clara F. Parkinson Clara F. Parkinson, 85, Mt. Vernon, Ill., formerly of Mt. Carmel, died Sept. 10, 1994, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Center. She was born Sept. 12, 1908, in Mt. Vernon, the daughter of Herman and Lila (Davis) Nolta. She married L. Dow Parkinson. He preceded her in death in 1955. Mrs. Parkinson, a member of Park Avenue Baptist Church, operated Clara's Restaurant and Steak House in Mt. Carmel. She is survived by a sister, Anna Fleener of Mt. Vernon. Preceding her in death were four sisters, Marie Waite, Mary Nolta, Doris Nolta and Mildred Marlow; and two brothers, Clarence and Clyde Nolta. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery, Mt. Vernon. The Rev. Everett Lemay will officiate. Visitation is from 5 to 8 this evening at Hughey Funeral Home.
