Vernon, IL August 4, 2014 Jack Kiselewski (Photo) John Lester "Jack" Kiselewski, 64, of Waltonville, passed away at 1:49 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born Sept. 22, 1949, in Waltonville, a son of John and Mildred "Millie" (Laur) Kiselewski. He married Brenda (Andermatt) on April 11, 1969, in Waltonville and she survives in Waltonville. Jack graduated from Waltonville High School in 1967. He later attended Eastern Illinois University where he received a bachelor's degree in education. Jack was match teacher at Tamaroa Grade School from 1972 until his retirement in 2005. He also tutored many of John and Ami's classmates from Waltonville High School. Jack enjoyed helping his grandchildren with their math homework and was a fixture at their sporting events. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Mr. Kiselewski was active in Waltonville athletics including assistant coaching, opening the gym on Sunday nights, prepping the softball field and keeping the scorebooks. He was a proud supporter of Jack's Hog Lot Hunters. Jack also enjoyed farming with his family. He donated blood over 100 times until his health prevented him from donating. Jack was of the Christian faith. Jack is survived by his wife, Brenda Kiselewski of Waltonville; son, John Kiselewski and wife Joyce of Waltonville; daughter, Ami and husband Geno Halloran of Shiloh; sister, Linda Panzier of Ashley; six grandchildren, Kadin Kiselewski, Rykier Kiselewski, Logan Halloran, Brady Halloran, Kristofer Harlow and Kerstie Harlow; mother-in-law, June Hamlin of Waltonville; brother-in-law, Rick Shreves of Mt. Vernon; and three nephews, Lendell Panzier, Lance Panzier and Chad Shreves. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mildred "Millie" Kiselewski; brother-in-law, Lendell M. Panzier; sister-in-law, Diana L. Shreves; and father-in-law, Leroy "Tutor" Hamlin. Graveside funeral services for Jack will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 7, 2014, at Knob Prairie Cemetery in Waltonville with Pastor James McKenzie officiating. A reception will follow services on Thursday.
