They moved to Jennings County, Indiana in the early 1800s. I am having trouble discovering the names of his children, although one may have been John Q. ADAMS. Alexander died in 1836 and his wife married a D. C. CLINTON. Here are my notes about the children: CHILDREN - Sources do not agree. According to "The History and Genealogy of the Knowltons of England and America," Alexander and Hannah had the following children: John Q (b1824), Charles (b1826), Clinton (b 1828), Emaline (b 1830) and Evaline (b 1832). IGI indicates these children were born in Franklin, Johnson Co, IN. The problem with this location is that Alexander Adams was in Jennings Co, IN (according to the census) between 1820-1830. Other sources (Jennings County Court Records, and various records at ancestry.com) list the following children:: JACKSON He and his sister, Adaline, were accused of having an incestual relationship in 1839. They sued their accuser and won a settlement of $1,000 in 1843. ADALINE - Received into the congregation of the Coffee Creek Baptist Church on Sunday, September 1839. Also received at this time were Eveline and Joseph Adams. EVELINE or EVALINE or EMALINE b December 11. 1825 and died September 24, 1867 in IN. (Vawtner Family in America). Evaline Adams and Hannah Adams were members of the Coffee Creek Baptist Church in Paris Crossing, Jennings Co, IN. Evaline married, as his second wife, James Branham on December 4. 1847. The lived in Vernon, Jennings Co, IN (1850 and 1860 Census) JOHN Q was listed as a witness in the Jackson/Adaline case so could have been a brother. He was appointed administrator of the estate of Alexander Adams. ALEXANDER was listed as guardian of minor heirs when Hannah died. There is an Alexander Adams, b 1826 who died in North Vernon, Jennings Co, IN in 1902. He is buried in the Freedom Baptist Church Cemetery, Montgomery Co, IN. This Alexander had a sister, Esther who was buried in the same cemetery. This name is not on either of the lists above. Does this connect with your ADAMS ancestors?
