The Mt. Vernon Register-News, Tuesday, May 17, 1960 Logan Owens Of RFD 3 Dies At Age 70 Years | Logan Owens of RFD 3, Mt. Vernon, died at 1:35 a. m. today at Good Samaritan Hospital. He was 70 years, one month, and 28 days old. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p. m. tomorrow at Myers Chapel with the Rev. David Lynch officiating. Burial will be in West Salem cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 4:00 p. m. today. Mr. Owens was born Mar. 19, 1890, in Jefferson county, the son of John N. and Ida (Pickett) Owens. On Sept 9. 1914, in this city, he was married to Hazel Sowers, who preceded him in death in 1944. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Esther Bullock and Mrs. Audrey White of this city; four sons, Ansel, Paul, George and Charles Owens, all of Mt. Vernon; a brother, Arthur Owens of East Prairie, Mo.; a sister. Mrs. Nellie Madison of Belolt. Kan.; and 11 grandchildren.
