The Mt. Vernon Register-News, Friday, June 10, 1966 Harvey Neal, 55, Dies Early Today; Funeral Sunday Harvey Neal died at 3:10 a.m. today at his home, 2310 Perkins, at the age of 55 years, 10 months and 15 days. Mr. Neal was a truck driver for the Viking Freight Company. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Myers Chapel withe the Rev, F. L. Trotter officiating. Burial will be in West Salem cemetery. The body will lie in state at Myers Chapel where friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Neal was born July 25, 1910, in St. Louis, the son of John Q. and Hazel (Harper) Neal. In Mt. Vernon, on Jan. 21, 1933, he was married to Samelda Davis, who survives. He is also survived by five sons, Walter, Harvey D., Lester and John Neal, all of Mt. Vernon, and Charles Neal of Bedford, England; a brother, Edward Neal of Des Moines, la.; and 15 grandchildren. Mr. Neal was a member of Logan Street Baptist church.
