GaVette Dies at Age 56; Rites on Friday Alva Raymond GaVette, of 132 Castleton Avenue, died at 8:00 o'clock last night at Jefferson County Memorial Hospital. His age was 56 years, four months and 26 days. Funeral services will be held Friday at 3:00 p. m. at Myers Chapel, with the Rev. Riley Burton officiating, and burial will be in Oakwood cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time after 10 a. m. Thursday. Mr. GaVette was a molder at the Mt. Vernon Furnace Co. He was born February 15, 1894 in Jefferson county. He was married to Lola Vern Smith, who survives. Besides his wife, he is survived by four sons, Leon of Portland, Oregon, Doral of North Chicago, Ill., William Robert of Fort Campbell, Ky. and Elwood of Mt. Vernon; a brother, James of St. Louis, Mo.; two half-brothers, William Rogers of Louisville, Ky. and Harvey Rogers of Evansville, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
