Billy R. Goforth, 62, of Burlington, Wis., passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014.Born in Memphis on April 25, 1952, he was the son of Curtis and Lucille (Richardson) Goforth. He spent his early life in Mt. Vernon, where he graduated from Mt. Vernon Township High School.He worked for Metra Railroad for several years. He was a huge Chicago sports fan, enjoyed watching movies and spending time with his family and his faithful four-legged friend Roxie.He is survived by his children, Scott (Nikki) Goforth and Jennifer Becker; grandchildren, Joey Becker and Lauren, Tyler and Nicholas Goforth. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Lou Dienberg; niece, Michelle Leedle; and nephew, Michael (Debbie) Dienberg.He was preceded in death by his parents and best friend Muddy.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.The family would like to thank Walworth County Emergency Services for their care and compassion.Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Schuette-Daniels Funeral Home in Burlington, Wis.Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Union Cemetery.
