    3. Kenneth Packard Bell, II September 3, 1941 ~ December 5, 2019 (age 78) Obituary Kenneth Packard Bell, II, 78, of Mount Vernon, Illinois passed away at 10:39 P.M. December 5, 2019 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mount Vernon, Illinois. He was born September 3, 1941 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to the late Kenneth Packard Bell, Sr. and Ruth (Badgett) Bell. He married Teresa (Puntney) Bell on August 27, 1966 at Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with 53 years of marriage. In addition to his wife, Teresa (Puntney) Bell, Kenneth is survived by his two sons, Jim Bell of Haeworth, Illinois and John Ramos Bell and husband, Jose of Phoenix, Arizona; brother, Jim Bell and wife, Dixie of Mount Vernon, Illinois; sisters-in-laws, Janice Rogers of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and Mary Lynne Crabtree of Saint Peters, Missouri; brother-in-law, Joe Plemon and wife, Janice of Anna, Illinois; Sister-in-laws, Anita Puntney and husband, Scott Borchdt of Phoenix, Arizona Robyn Puntney of Phoenix, Arizona. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Packard Bell, Sr. and Ruth (Badgett) Bell, brother, Richard Bell and wife, Mona Bell. Kenneth proudly served the United States Navy in Submarine Service. He worked as a coal miner for thirty years. Kenneth was a member of Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, past Exulted Ruler for the Mount Vernon Elks (B.P.O.E.) Lodge 819, a life member of the Turner Roehm AMVETS Post 4, and Mount Vernon American Legion Post #141. A Greeting of family and friends will be held 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, December 9, 2019 at Newell Funeral Home 601 South 42nd Street in Mount Vernon, Illinois. At 7:30 P.M. Monday, December 9, 2019 a Vigil Service will be held. A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Cathlic Church in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Father John Iffert officiating. Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
