    1. [ILJEFFER] PIERCY-HAWKINS WEDDING
    2. BLS
    3. MT. VERNON - Ashley Lynn Piercy and Douglas Richard Hoffman were united in marriage on Oct. 16, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon. Ashley is the daughter of Greg and Gaye Piercy of Texico, and Zeke and Cheryl Lopez of Dix. Douglas is the son of Dr. Daniel and Linda Hoffman of Mt. Vernon. The church was beautifully decorated with ivory roses and purple lisianthus flowers. Fresh greenery was entwined with two gold candelabras. Ivory satin bows accented with ivory roses adorned the church pews. Wedding music was played by a string quartet. Scripture passages were read by George Hoyt, uncle of the bride; Steve Hoffman, uncle of the groom; and Adam Breeze, friend of the couple. The bride, given in marriage by her mother and father, wore an embellished illusion cap sleeve satin A-line gown with an appliquéd pick up skirt and chapel train, with a metallic embroidered bodice accented with crystals, beads and sequins. Her veil, which was a gift from her grandparents, was made of lace with scalloped trim, adorned with teardrop crystals that matched her crystal tiara. The bridal bouquet consisted of ivory roses, variegated pittosporum and embellished with hues of purple. The maid of honor was Jessica Whisenhunt, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Alicia Barnes, friend of the bride; Keli Lawson, friend of the bride; Sarah Mooney, friend of the bride; and Lindsay Piercy, sister-in-law of the bride. Junior bridesmaids were Kelsey Hoyt and Robbi Ross, cousins of the bride. Flower girl was Zoe Stoecker, cousin of the groom. The attendants and junior bridesmaids wore a strapless, beaded, eggplant floor-length gown, and carried a bouquet similar to the bride's bouquet. The flower girl's dress was identical to the bride's gown. The groom wore a black tuxedo with a black vest and black striped tie. His groomsmen, ushers and ring bearer wore a matching black tuxedo with an eggplant colored vest and striped tie. The best man was Kris Kmitta, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Colin Kirkpatrick, friend of the groom; Eric Hoffman, brother of the groom; Jason Caraway, friend of the groom; and Matthew Piercy, brother of the bride. Ring bearer was Matthew Hoffman, cousin of the groom. Ushers were Bob Bodach, friend of the groom, and Collin Hoyt, cousin of the bride. Guestbook and program attendants were Rene Lewis and Amanda Hutchison, friends of the bride. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Cedarhurst Center for the Arts in Mt. Vernon. Gold and ivory tablecloths with eggplant runners covered the tables. Tables were ornately decorated with tall ivory and purple floral arrangements and also white pumpkins with smaller floral arrangements. Lighted votive candles and small white pumpkins were placed on the tables throughout the performance hall. Four large floral arrangements stood elegantly behind the bridal party table. A swan ice sculpture also adorned the performance hall. Guests enjoyed light hors d'oeuvres, dinner and candy from the couple's candy table. The four-tiered wedding cake was made by Janice Shelton. Between each tier were ivory roses and purple lisianthus flowers. The cake was designed of freehand scrollwork and button pearls. The groom's cake was designed and resembled a stack of four law books. Servers were Teresa Hoyt and Paula Ross, aunts of the bride. The couple spent their honeymoon in Kauai, Hawaii. The Hoffmans reside in Mt. Vernon.
