Genevia Gwaltney, 94, of McLeansboro, died at 6:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010, at Centralia Manor. She was born on July 28, 1916, in Hamilton County, the daughter of John Logan and Minnie Rose (Johnson) Lasswell. She is survived by two sons, Jack Gwaltney and wife Sue of Avon Park, Fla., and John Gwaltney and wife Rhoda of St. Louis; nine grandchildren, one deceased; 16 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, a grandson, five brothers and four sisters. Genevia was a retired sales clerk with the former Ben Franklin store in McLeansboro. She was a member of McLeansboro Eastern Star and Rebekah Lodge and Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Gholson Funeral Home in McLeansboro.
