A. Carl and Berneita A. (Beaird) Ellis will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Nov. 7. The couple were married on Nov. 7, 1950, in Piggott, Ark. Carl is the son of James Earl and Lola Belle (Cooper) Ellis. Berneita is the daughter of Maude and Harry Beaird of Cuba. The couple have three children, James Mark, Marilyn Ann Anderson and Susan Marie Smith. They are the grandparents of Koree Smith and wife Angel of Houston, Juliana Smith of Mt. Vernon, Heather Ellis of Salem, Marissa Mann of Salem and Sean Tolley of Mt. Vernon. They have four great-grandchildren, James N. Tolley and Cameron, Catelyn and Caleb Mann. The couple will celebrate with family over Thanksgiving.
