Shelia S. Sledge, 64, of Mt. Vernon, died at 3:55 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, 2010, at White Oak Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon. She was born Sept. 4, 1946, in Rochelle, a daughter of Leslie Tyler and Mamie Leathers. She married Gary L. Sledge on June 29, 1985, in Mt. Vernon, and he survives. There will be no funeral services held. Shelia is survived by her husband; two sons; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a stepson, Jeff Sledge and wife Dee of Mt. Vernon; two brothers, Joe Tyler and wife Carolyn of Nashville and Paul Tyler and wife Dollie of Rock Falls; and two sisters, Betty Werski of Dixon and Sharon Woolbright and husband Grover of Rochelle. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents.
