Henry Withrow, 88, of Wayne City, Illinois passed away at 3:43 P.M. on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Fairfield Memorial Hospital in Fairfield, Illinois. Mr. Withrow was born on Wednesday, October 25, 1922 in Wayne County, Illinois the son of the late Harry and Alice (Porter) Withrow. Surviving family members include his long time companion: Rosemary Williams of Wayne City, Illinois; son-in-law: Ronald Dale "Ron" Williams of Wayne City, Illinois; 2 grandchildren: Beth Turner and husband Brad of Fairfield, Illinois and Rhonda Jane Loveless and husband Randy of Woodlawn, Illinois; 6 great grandchildren: Ryan Turner and wife Karissa of Mount Carmel, Illinois, Brett Turner of Indianapolis, Indiana, Eric Turner of Fairfield, Illinois, Lindsey Peterson of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Brent Peterson of Carbondale, Illinois and Andrea Loveless of Woodlawn, Illinois; 4 great great grandchildren: Jackson, Ella and Ava Turner and Braden Duncan; granddaughter-in-law: Nanette Williams of Woodlawn, Illinois; several nieces and nephews also survive. His parents, one daughter: Evelyn J. "Joey" Williams, a grandson: Elton Ray Williams, his brother: Cecil Withrow and his sister: Florence Hartsell preceded him in death. Henry was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, was a lifetime member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1376, a member of the American Legion Post #1193 of Bluford, Turner Rhoem AMVETS Post 4 and the Disabled American Veterans. He was a truck driver, was of the Baptist faith and attended Paradise Baptist Church in Wayne City, Illinois The family will greet friends from 1:00 P.M. until the service time at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Archie L. Sanders Memorial Chapel in Wayne City, Illinois. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at Archie L. Sanders Memorial Chapel in Wayne City, Illinois. Reverend Ron Trotter and Reverend Richard McCormick will officiate. INTERMENT: Inurnment of cremated remains will be at Thomason Cemetery in Wayne City, Illinois. Members of Mt. Vernon American Legion Post #141 will assist the U.S. Army Memorial Detail with Full Military Honors at the cemetery.
