SULLIVAN - Martha E. Johnson, 90, of Sullivan and formerly of Decatur, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010. Martha was born Jan. 14, 1920, in Urbana, the daughter of Roy and Clara (Frances) Whitney. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Martha loved Jesus and was very artistic. She spent a lot of time painting, making shadow boxes and miniature items for those shadow boxes. She married Dean R. Johnson in 1939, and he preceded her in death in 1996. Martha is survived by her son, Larry (Glenda Taylor) Johnson of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Tammy K. (Ryan) Prince, Jeffery Dean Johnson and Sheli Lyn (Andy) Graven; great-grandchildren, Hailey and Mariah Graven and Gentry Prince; brother, Robert A. (Lillian) Whitney and lifelong friend, Mary Hamman. Her special sayings were "143" (I Love You); and "Live Laugh Love Often." Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 p.m. until the service time at 3 p.m. in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home in Decatur. Burial will follow in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts are suggested to Sullivan Health Care Center or Aspen Ridge Care Centre. The family of Martha E.
