FLORA -- Wanda Lorin Miketta, 97, passed away at 12:56 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, in Clay County Hospital in Flora. Mrs. Miketta was born Aug. 9, 1913, in Nason, the daughter of James Wells and Jennie (Beckham) Wells. She married Paul Miketta on Feb. 13, 1935, in Benton, and he preceded her in death Dec. 8, 1967. Mrs. Miketta is survived by her two children, Darryl Miketta and wife, Pam, of Mount Vernon and Cheryl Osborn and husband, Roy, of Salem. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Melisa Rittenberry and husband, Jason, of Nashville, Tenn., Melane Green and husband, Bryan, of Salem, and Marc Snyder and Rachael Crain, also of Salem; and by great-grandchildren, Andrew Miller, Amanda Miller, Cole Vieira, Justin Green, Clayton Green, Micah Snyder, Millie Snyder, and Tristan Green. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and by one sister, Gwen Kersh; and by three brothers, Waldo Wells, Edward Wells and Norris Wells. Wanda was employed for many years by Clay County Hospital and by Clay County Clerk. She and husband, Paul, operated a grocery store and frozen food locker in Flora. She was of Methodist faith. Most of all, Wanda was totally devoted to her children and grandchildren, all of whom were in turn devoted to her. She will be sadly missed. Graveside services for Wanda Miketta will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, in Elmwood Cemetery in Flora, with Bryan Green officiating. Friends are asked to go directly to the cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to Boys Town USA or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and may be mailed to the L. R. Osborn and Son Funeral Home, P.O. Box 39, Kell, IL 62853.
