    3. Mary Spackey, 81, of Salem, Illinois, formerly of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at home on December 3, 2010 at 5:30 A.M. Mary was born on August 24, 1929 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois to Charles Clifford and Agnes (Rote) Southerd. She married Harry E. Owens on April 15, 1947 and he preceded her in death on June 3, 1995. She married Murrel E. Wilson on May 29, 1958 and he preceded her in death on March 15, 1988. She later married Glenn O. Spackey on April 4, 1969 and he preceded her in death on October 12, 1994. She is survived by her children: Steven Owens of Bluford, Illinois, Rick Owens and wife Debbie of Dickson, Tennessee, Sandy Wilson of Salem, Illinois, Larry Wilson and wife Rhonda of Salem, Illinois and Cheryl Braden and husband Harmon of Wayne City, Illinois; grandchildren: Cherye Curlutu, Vickie King, Jeremy Owens, Roxanne Hoskins, Dawn Owens, Wesley Owens, Denver Owens, Pamela Owens, Scott Harrison, Craig Harrison, Kyle Harrison, Teri Edwards, Tracy Wilson, David Braden, Matthew Braden, Mykell Wilson, Katieanne Cullen and Jamie Thompson; great grandchildren: Joshua and Shelby Curlutu, Julianne and Alexia Hoskins, Parker Owens, Katherine and Brittany Shadowens, Cheyenne and Savannah Owens, Keyshia and Dakota Owens, Zachary and Alyssa Harrison, Kenniedie and Andrew Edwards, Maverick and Austin Wilson, Colton and Alexis King and Clara and Connor Braden; brothers: Robert Southerd, Gale Southerd and Dale Southerd; sisters: Evelyn Fern Bullock and Oneida Tindle; many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by a daughter: Pamela Sue Wilson, brothers: Harlan Southerd, Edward Southerd and Charles Southerd, sisters: Eleanor Cralley and Dora Colledge. Mary was retired from the Chrysler Assembly Plant in Belvidere, Illinois and from Wal-Mart in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Until her health failed she was an active member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and HCE in Salem, Illinois. She enjoyed gardening and watching and caring for hummingbirds who frequented her porch every year. She especially enjoyed playing the piano, learning at an earyly age to play by ear. She played for many churches and functions, gospel music being her favorite to play. Mary was on of the first members of the King City Saddle Club. VISITATION: will be held from 5 to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, December 6, 2010 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Reverend Gale Breeze will officiate. INTERMENT: Oakwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. For those who wish, memorials may be given to American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at the funeral home or may be mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864.
