    3. Wayne E. Linville, 73, of Glen Carbon, Ill., born on July 24, 1937, in Mt. Vernon, Ill., passed from this life on Sunday, Dec. 19, 2010, at Christian North East Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.. Mr. Linville was a mechanical engineer for more than 30 years starting at Ralston-Purina then at DuPont Chemical until his retirement. He was a registered engineer, a member of the Engineers Club of St. Louis, Mo., Park Avenue Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Ill., 55, 56, 57 Chevy Club and volunteered for the AARP assisting local seniors with their income taxes. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Pearl J., nee Casey, Linville; and a niece, Patty Costley. Surviving are his wife, Paula, nee Heltsley, Linville, whom he married on Sept. 6, 1958; five nephews, Don (Sachiko) Linville, Bob Linville, Jerry Linville, Terry Linville and LeRoy Linville, all of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; niece, Betty (Karl) Jackson of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; father-in-law, Floyd Cruse of Granite City, Ill.; two brothers-in-law, Mark (Kathy) Cruse of Wheaton, Ill., and Jeff (Barb) Cruse of Granite City, Ill.; and many other extended family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church in Granite City, Ill. Visitation: Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City, Ill. Funeral: A celebration of Wayne's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Adam Cruse officiating.
