Betty Ruth Greene, 85, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 2:45 P.M. on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at Mt. Vernon Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Betty was born on Friday, December 4, 1925 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the daughter of the late Walter E. and Madie Marie (Moore) Fisher. She married Bobby Gene Greene on August 4, 1947 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Surviving family members include her husband: Bobby Gene Greene of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 2 children: Gary Lee Greene and wife Earlene of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Terri Lynn Huntman and husband Donald of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren also survive. Her parents, one infant son: Timmy Gene Greene, 8 brothers and sisters preceded her in death. Betty was a sales clerk at J.C. Penney's in Mt. Vernon, Illinois and was a member of the Protestant faith. GRAVESIDE SERVICES: will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Friday, December 31. 2010 at East Hickory Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois. Reverend Chuck Ellis will officiate. INTERMENT: East Hickory Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois. VISITATION: There will be no public visitation held.
