Verna L. (Allen) Bumpus, 87, of St. Charles, Mo., and formerly of Mt. Vernon, passed away on Oct. 21, 2010. She was the beloved wife of Elmer; mother of Darryl and Brenda; and sister-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend to many. Mrs. Bumpus retired from Pitney Bowes. Interment will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Old Shiloh Cemetery in Mt. Vernon
