    3. MT. VERNON - Frank Grimes Baker, 81, of Belle Rive, died at 11:35 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010, at his residence in Belle Rive. He was born on July 11, 1929, in Belle Rive, the son of Charles Frank and Gladys (Laird) Baker. He first married Shirley Smith on June 24, 1950, in Belle Rive; she preceded him in death on June 10, 1990. He later married Kay Kiefer on Sept. 1, 1995, in Paducah, Ky.; she survives in Belle Rive. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Sue Sammons of Mt. Vernon and Kimberly Raufeisen and husband Todd B. of Rock Island; grandchildren Michelle and husband Chris Ashby of Mt. Vernon, Dr. Amie King and husband Keith of Caseyville, and Amanda Raufeisen and Derek Raufeisen, both of Rock Island; great-grandchildren, Colleen and Andrew Ashby, both of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Laura Nelle Shelton of Dahlgren; step children Debby Huff and husband Randy of McLeansboro, Rick McKinney and wife Lisa of Bluford; step grandchildren, David Gage and wife Chrystal of Dahlgren and Danielle and Michaela Morlan, both of McLeansboro; and a step great-grandchild, Evie Gage of Dahlgren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; a brother-in-law, Dallas Shelton; a son-in-law, Jim Sammons; and a step son, Bradley McKinney. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon, past Worshipful Master and 50-year member of Belle Rive Lodge 696 AF & AM, Belle Rive Chapter 631 Order of the Eastern Star, Andrew D. Webb Chapter 160, Patton Commandry 69, Ainad Shrine Temple, past president of Jefferson County Shrine Club, and three year president of the Belle Rive Reunion Committee. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon with the Rev. Victor Long officiating. Interment will be in Smith Cemetery in Jefferson County. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Mt. Vernon. A Masonic service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. For those who wish, memorials may be given to Hospice of the Good Samaritan or Shriners Children's Hospital and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, IL 62864.
