Vernon, IL Register-News - Monday, January 22, 1951 Vincent JOHNSTON died at 3:25 o'clock Sunday morning at his home in McClellan Township at the age of 76y4m25d. Mr. JOHNSTON, a retired employee of the C. & A. and the C. & E. I. railroads, was formerly employed at the Mt. Vernon Car Shops. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at the South Hickory Hill Church, with the Rev. Logan COX officiating, and burial will be in South Hickory Hill Cemetery. The body will remain at Myers Chapel, where friends may call at any time until the funeral hour. Mr. JOHNSTON was born August 26, 1874 in Spring Garden Township, Jefferson County, the son of Ambrose and Sarah Jane (SULLIVAN) JOHNSTON. He was married to Elizabeth PUCKETT, who survives. Mr. JOHNSTON was a member of the South Hickory Hill Christian Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Inez Mae ROSE of Venice, IL; a son Olin JOHNSTON of RFD #3, Mt.
