Orville Rhodes King, 67, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 9:10 A.M. on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Mr. King was born on Friday, December 18, 1942 in Gary, Indiana the son of Esther Timms King. He married Sharon Pasley on July 3, 1963 in Crown Point, Indiana. Surviving family members include his mother and stepfather: Esther N. and Walt Antisdel of Bangor, Michigan; wife: Sharon King of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 3 sons: Orville E. King and wife Janine of Louisville, Illinois, Kevin M. King and wife D. Stacy of Opdyke, Illinois and David A. King of Belle Rive, Illinois; 2 daughters: Theresa L. Jones of Bradley, Illinois and Mary Robinson and husband John of Freelton Ontario, Canada; 4 sisters: Joyce Walter and husband Harold of Hebron, Indiana, Linda Cole of Hobart, Indiana, Phyllis Osby of Hebron, Indiana and Evelyn Bean of Thayer, Indiana; 11 grandchildren: Eric King of Bradley, Illinois, Jennifer Jones and fiance Mike Gosnell of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Joseph Jones of El Paso, Texas, Debra J, Brenda D., Bryan D. King all of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Jeremy R., Brittney L., Samantha E. King all of Freelton Ontario, Canada, Nicholas G. King of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, David A. King of Fairfield, Illinois, Christina Bell and husband Jeremy of Tennessee, David Phelps of Centralia, Illinois, Nichole Phelps of Tennessee and Dustin Phelps of Centralia, Illinois; 7 great grandchildren: Megan Wyllie, Natalie Gosnell, Debrianna Belle, Daelyn Bell, Amaya Stanley all of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Alyssa Belle of Tennessee and Jillissa Jones of Las Cruces, New Mexico; mother-in-law: Lorene Pasley of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; special friends (extended family): Penny Miles and Joe Shepler of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; several nieces and nephews also survive. His brother: Art Wells, his foster parents: Jennie and John Wells, Arthur and Julia Wells, father-in-law: Edward Pasley and one daughter: Patti Phelps preceded him in death. Orville was a concrete finisher and self-employed cleaning and maintenance man. In honor of his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service held.
