Chloe E. Dare, 82, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 8:50 P.M. on Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Mt. Vernon Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Mrs. Dare was born on Tuesday, July 24, 1928 in Wood River, Illinois the daughter of the late Otis and Viney (Jackson) Withrow. She married Frank Dare in July of 1969 and he preceded her in death in 2006. Surviving family members include her son: Melvin Dare of West City, Illinois; half-brother: Harvey Gould and wife Myra of Fairfield, Illinois and several nieces and nephews also survive. Her parents, husband and one brother: Delbert Withrow preceded her in death. Chloe was a homemaker, an animal lover who enjoyed raising chickens, geese and cats and she was of the Baptist faith. FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Reverend Ron Reynolds and Reverend Merle Fullerton will officiate. VISITATION: will be held from 12 until the service time at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. INTERMENT: South Hickory Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois.
