I have seen where someone has Elizabeth Ryans (1860 Jefferson census) as being Elizabeth Betsy Caldwell, wife of Wm Pleasant Ryan of Sumner TN. There is a marriage for them in Sumner in 1834, but I cannot prove that they are one and the same. Her daughter Elizabeth J., 12 years old on the census is my gggrandmother. She married William W. Gilbert in Marion Co in 1864. I have not been able to confirm his parents either. Elizabeth J. dies by 1873 and William remarries in Posey Indiana by 1874. I have not been able to sort out the Ryans etc. of Jefferson. Do you know the parents of Wm Hamilton or from where in Tennessee he came from? Any info would be helpful.
