Lowell H. Hamilton Sr., 87, formerly of Warrensburg, passed away Wednesday, December 29, 2010, at Heartland Health Care Center with his loving family at his bedside. Lowell was born August 16, 1923, in Sesser, the son of John and Sarah (Veach) Hamilton. He proudly served his country in the Navy during WWII. Lowell was a teacher for more than 20 years and was a member of the Warrensburg Methodist Church for many years. He married Betty Grace Johnson on April 16, 1946, and she preceded him in death. Left behind to cherish his memory are sons, Lowell Jr. and wife Mary of Chatham and Carl and wife Jane of Decatur; daughter, Nancy Wheaton and husband Rick of Decatur; brother, Curtis Hamilton; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Lowell was greeted into Heaven by his wife and his parents. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kirk Cemetery in Ina with Brother David Shores officiating.
