IS THIS JOHN W> CONNER MENTIONED IN THIS OBIT, ANY OF THE FRANKLIN CO CONNER LINES MT. VERNON - Ruth Elizabeth Pigg, 94, of Mt. Vernon, went to be with her Lord surrounded by her loving family at 9:26 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon. She was born Jan. 15, 1917, in Mt. Vernon, a daughter of John W. and Gussie G. (Johnson) Conner. She married Chancie Woodrow "Woody" Pigg on Nov. 1, 1936, in Mt. Vernon, and he preceded her in death on March 29, 2010. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with the Revs. Steve Dunford and Jim Duncan officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. Mrs. Pigg is survived by a son, Ronald Eugene Pigg and wife Darla of Opdyke; three daughters, Judith A. Southerd and husband Dale of Mt. Vernon, Linda Wittenbrink and husband Vernon of Haines City, Fla. and Rebecca Meininger and husband Thomas of St. Louis; a brother, John R. Conner of Marshfield, Wis.; and 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; grandson, Robert R. Southerd; great-grandson, Albert Eugene Pigg; and twin grandchildren, Ronald Eugene and Rhonda Jean Pigg. Ruth's hobbies were antique cars, going to flea markets, rummage sales and gospel music concerts. She was a long time member of the East Side Baptist Church and a member of the Old Timers Antique Car Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She and her husband also enjoyed being able to spend their winters in frost-proof Florida for 33 years. She loved cooking and was a great cook and enjoyed many great times shopping with her daughters.
