    3. ABOUT OUR BELOVED Mary Joann Coffey, 73, of Mt. Vernon, Illinois passed away at 8:34 A.M. on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at her home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Mrs. Coffey was born on Thursday, April 7, 1938 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the daughter of the late Henry V. and M. Opal (Chelf) Laswell. She married Ronald Coffey on March 11, 1956 in Hornando, Mississippi. Surviving family members include her husband: Ronnie Coffey of Mt. Vernon, Illinois; 2 daughters: Rhonda Riley and husband Terry of Belle Rive, Illinois and Riki Cain and husband Mark of Belle Rive, Illinois; son: Ronald "Tom" Coffey and wife Brandy of Damiansville, Illinois; 6 grandchildren: Joann Jenean Riley Hefner and husband Jeff of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Amey Heck of Belle Rive, Illinois, Stephanie Cain of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, Ethan, Skylar and Collin Coffey of Damiansville, Illinois; great grandchildren: Raistlyn and Riley Scott of Mt. Vernon, Illinois and Dyllan, Elesa and Jonathan Hefner of Woodlawn, Illinois; sister: Joyce Smart and husband Ed of Boyd, Illinois; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Her parents, one brother: Henry V. Laswell, Jr., one sister: H. Sue Bennett, one granddaughter: Mary Sue and one grandson: John Cain preceded her in death. Joann retired from her position as Domestics Department Manager at the Mt. Vernon Wal-Mart in 1998. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, sister and a friend to many. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and dearly loved her miniature Yorkie, "Kayote" and she was of the Baptist faith. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Proverbs 31:28 VISITATION: will be held from 5 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 6, 2011 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. Brother Robert Abbott will officiate. FUNERAL SERVICES: will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon, Illinois. INTERMENT: Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois. For those who wish, memorials may be given to American Diabetes Association and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O. Box 721, Mt. Vernon, Illinois 62864
