James Henry Vaughn's obituary from the 23 May 1946 edition of the Paragould Soliphone. 23 May 1946 Greene, Arkansas, USA "James Henry Vaughn Dies Wednesday - James Henry Vaughn, 83[sic- he was aged 84 years, 6 months, 22 days], died at 3:15 Wednesday afternoon at the home of his son, Ray Vaughn, route three, following an illness due to complications. "Funeral services will be conducted at two o'clock Friday afternoon from the Brown's Chapel Church and burial will be made in the Brown's Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Will Batey, Church of Christ minister, will officiate. "Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Minnie Vaughn; three daughters, Mrs. J. H. Vestal of Dallas, Tex, Mrs. Frank Thomas of Sallisaw, Okla., and Mrs. E. L.
