I'm afraid that the 1879 marriage of Montgomery Milburn to Zuritha McCormack raises more questions than it answers. If he was married in 1879 then why does he appear in the 1880 census in his son's household in Casner as a widower? Did she die within the first year of marriage? Perhaps she was married to another Montgomery Milburn (though I must admit that another Montgomery Milburn is possible, it's still a long shot). I also checked the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census records of Hiram and Mary Milburn in Rome and have determined that they are a seperate family with no connection to my Milburn ancestors. Hirum was born in Indiana and Mary was born in Kentucky. My Montgomery and Mary were both born in Tennessee. Are you connected to these families? Are you a local researcher? I am looking for somebody in the Mt.Vernon area to find obituaries for me at the library and find records at the courthouse. Again, Thank You so very much for your reply!
