Thomas Charles "T.C." Hartwell age 55 of Mt. Vernon died 5:12 p.m. Wednesday May 18, 2011 at his home in Mt. Vernon. Thomas was born May 8, 1956 in Clovis, New Mexico a son of Thomas Hartwell and Doris Jean (Campbell). He currently worked as a security guard for National Railway in Mt. Vernon. He is survived by his daughter, Bertha Mae Evans and husband Ty Fields of Nora Visa, New Mexico; one brother, Tom Martin of Bakersfield, California; four granddaughters, Sierra, Lori, Josie, and Lillian; two nephews, Paul and Christopher; and also a dear friend who he thought of as a son, Jeff Armstrong. He was preceded in death by his Parents. A celebration of life service will be held at 7 p.m. Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Newell Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon with Pastor Marty Mills officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 5 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. His remains will be taken home to New Mexico at the conclusion of the services.
