MT. VERNON - Brandi Michelle Karcher, 38, of Centralia, passed away at St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospital on Feb. 5, 2011, following a courageous lifelong battle with cystic fibrosis. She was born on Oct. 3, 1972, graduated from Centralia High School and was an active member of Grace Church in Centralia. Brandi is survived by, and will forever be remembered by, her mother and stepfather, Patsy and Charles Phillips of Centralia; her father, Larry Karcher of McLeansboro; her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Kevin and Charlotte Knauss of Jacksonville, Fla.; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lynn Ann and Jeff Fritz of Sharon, Wis.; and nephews Justin and Kolton Fritz and niece Lily Fritz. She was preceded in death by her loving grandparents, Leonard and Irene Wilson and her aunt, Alice Wilson. Brandi touched the lives of everyone she met with her smile and zest for life. She maintained her positive outlook throughout and to the very end of her life. Friends and family are invited to attend the funeral service at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Grace Church in Centralia with Pastor Alan Nollman and Marty Mills officiating. Interment will follow at New Home (Lowery) Baptist Church Cemetery in Papertown. Visitation will be on Wednesday from noon until the time of the service at the church.
