Rex Daily 61-year-old Dahlgren resident, Rex Daily, died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, February 20 at his home. He was the Baptist Faith and was an operating engineer and over the road truck driver. He was a lifetime member of the Macedonia Lodge 1148, a member of the McLeansboro Elks Lodge 1882, and served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War. Survivors include: his wife, Fern Daily of Dahlgren; his mother, Mary Daily of Washington, IL; three brothers, Kenny Daily or Salem, IL, Ronnie Daily of East Peoria, IL, and Jeff Daily of Salem, IL; one sister, Kim Hammond of Washington, IL; 5 nieces; 3 nephews; one great nephew; 3 grandchildren; two stepsons, Bill Phillips of Pekin, IL, and Kirk Phillips of Mt. Vernon, IL; and special friends, Ellen Leighsty, Zane Clagg, and Diana Coleman, all of Dahlgren. Funeral Services for Rex Daily will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23rd at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro with Masonic Service to be conducted at 1:00 p.m. by Macedonia Lodge 1148 A.F. and A.M. By personal request, he will be cremated and a Private Family Burial of Ashes will follow at a later date. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 23rd at Harre Funeral Home in McLeansboro. Those attending are asked to wear jeans.
