VIRGINIA MARIE "GINGER" DOWDELL, 62, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 3:02 P.M. Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Mount Vernon Countryside Manor in Mount Vernon where she resided. She was born on Saturday, November 13, 1948 in Mount Vernon, a daughter to the late Kenneth E. & Ruth (Black) Dowdell. Along with her parents and one brother-in-law: Andy Williams preceded her in death. Her Surviving Family Members include three Sisters: Jeanie Bailey and husband Jerry, Marilyn Williams all of Woodlawn, Illinois and Jackie Starmann of Joliet, Illinois; three Sons: Kevin Eugene Dowdell of Tennessee, Clarence B. Tate of St. Elmo, Illinois and Lawrence D. Tate of Mattoon, Illinois and one Daughter: Rhonda Mount of Murphysboro, Illinois. Several Grandchildren, Nieces and Nephews also Survive. Ginger was a member of the Baptist Faith VISITATION will be from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Hughey Funeral Home in Mount Vernon, Illinois. GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held at 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn, Illinois, with Mr. James McKenzie officiating. INTERMENT will follow at Mount Vernon Memorial Gardens in Woodlawn. MEMORIALS may be given to the TIP Hospice of Centralia or to Delta Theta Tau Sorority and will be accepted at the funeral home or mailed to Hughey Funeral Home, P.O.
