MT. VERNON - Wendell Hugh Lisenby, 57, of Centralia, died at 5:17 p.m., on Saturday, Feb.19, 2011, at Herrin Hospital. He was born in Mt. Vernon on Feb. 8, 1954, the son of Hugh William Lisenby and Maybell Minor Lisenby Friend. Mr. Lisenby is survived by a brother, Jerry Lisenby and wife Wanda of Bluford; two sisters, Shirley Hayes and husband James of Mt. Vernon and Joyce Lynch and husband Douglas of Carlinville; a brother-in-law, Thomas A. Bain of Mt. Vernon;a stepsister, Ruth Melton and husband Junior of Richview; a stepsister-in-law, June Friend of Centralia; several nieces and nephews; and many friends including a special friend, Ron Honecker of Centralia. Mr. Lisenby was a graduate of Mt. Vernon High School. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Deloris Bain; stepfather, Martin Friend; and a stepbrother, Jerry Friend. As per his wishes, his body was cremated and no public services will be held. Memorial may be made to the East Salem Cemetery and will be received at Osborn Funeral Home, P.O. Box 130, Dix, IL 62830, who is in charge of arrangements.
