MT. VERNON - Lloyd "Pop" Saxe, 93, of Mt. Vernon and formerly of Albion, passed away at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2011, in Mt. Vernon. He was born Feb. 4, 1917, in Ellery, to Delbert Saxe and Emma Kilough. He married Carolyn Saxe on June 4, 1942, in Albion. He was a farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Ruth Fildes. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Saxe; a son, Kent Saxe and wife Coleen of Mt. Vernon; and two grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, at Nale's Funeral Home in Albion with the pastor David Shain officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Friends may call from noon until the time of Masonic service at 1:15 p.m. For those who wish, memorials may be given to the Presbyterian Church or the 4-H Foundation.
