Don Carl Lamacchia, 71, of Mt. Vernon, passed away at 11:25 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2011, at White Oaks Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was born Tuesday, June 13, 1939, in Mulberry Grove, to Charles Anthony Lamacchia and Nellie (Dethrage) Lamacchia. In honor of Don's wishes, he will be cremated and private services will be held at a later date. Ashes will be buried at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Belleville. He is survived by his daughter, Gina Lamacchia of Beneld; two sons, John Lamacchia of Mulberry Grove and Don Lamacchia and wife Pam of Bluford; six grandchildren, Joe Lamacchia of Mt. Vernon, Noelle Lamacchia of Mt. Vernon, Kelly Lamacchia of Mt. Vernon, Chris Lamacchia of Mt. Vernon and Marybeth Lamacchia of Mt. Vernon, and one grandchild on the way; two great-grandchildren, Caedon Lamacchia of Mulberry Grove and Hanley Jo Lamacchia of Mt. Vernon; a sister, Jennifer Mason of Vandalia; and a niece, Tammy Kampwerth of Highland. His parents and one nephew, Tommy Murphy, preceded him in death.
