Doris B. McRill, 89, of Freeman Spur, Illinois passed away at 4:50 P.M. on April 10, 2011 at Herrin Hospital in Herrin, Illinois. Mrs. McRill was born on March 24, 1922 in Mt. Vernon, Illinois the daughter of the late Chauncey Hickle and Anna (Reece) Hickle. She married Bill McRill on August 7, 1956 in Corinth, Mississippi and he preceded her in death on February 19, 2006. Surviving family members include her son: Thomas Edward McRill and wife Ranetta of Freeman Spur, Illinois; granddaughter: Michelle Dawn Cox and husband Derrick of Herrin, Illinois; grandson: Brandon Wade McRill of Freeman Spur, Illinois; great granddaughters: Miranda and Brylan Mezo of Herrin, Illinois; brother-in-law: Ben McRill and wife Shirley of Sullivan, Illinois; sister-in-law: Gwen McRill Albee and husband John of Normal, Illinois. Her parents, husband Doris worked as a waitress and a cook for a drive-in restaurant in Wayne City, Illinois. She was a member of the Church of God and loved being outdoors and camping with her husband. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at East Hickory Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County, Illinois. Mr. Randy Sells will officiate. VISITATION: per request of Doris there will be no public visitation.
