Marvin R. Barkau, age 52, of Nashville, Illinois, passed away at7:20 A.M. on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at his home in Nashville, Illinois. He was born on June 26, 1958 in Nashville, Illinois, the son of Walter L. and M. Lorraine (McClain) Barkau. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Angela R. Barkau, sister Hazel Mathews and brother Hershel Barkau. Left to mourn his passing is a son; Jason Barkau of Nashville, Illinois, daughter, Amy Barkau of Mt. Vernon, Illinois, grandchildren Katlynn Pflasterer and Jason Barkau, Jr, brother Walter F. Barkau, Jr and wife Florence of Nashville, Illinois and sisters Flora Barkau of Nashville, Illinois and Karen Perkey and husband Ronald of Spring Grove, Illinois. Mr. Barkau enjoyed baseball, NASCAR Racing, fishing, and mushroom hunting. He loved life and lived it to his fullest. Mr. Barkau was formerly employed as a laborer with the Sparta Sanitation Company. He has lived his whole life in Nashville, Illinois. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 at the Styninger Funeral Home in Nashville, Illinois. A Memorial Gathering will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the Memorial Services at 11:00 A.M at the funeral home.
